Legend

Okay, instead of only toying around with Undying Legend, I am actually writing it again. It makes me very happy. I love it when I have a good story that needs to be written, just so I know what’s going to happen next. Once again my characters are surprising me, which is a wonderful thing, because those are always my best stories. Off to writing land.

Undying Life Finished

Woo Hoo, I got a SHORT story finished, lol. Yeah, I know that over 26,000 words isn’t that short, but it’s a darn good try for someone who had difficulty telling a story in less than 75,000 words. It so totally didn’t turn out the way I thought it was going to, but that’s a really awesome thing. I love having to write just so I can see what happens in the end. I think it’s one of my better stories, and I love it. Now I need to get back to Undying Legend. Maverick really does need to get to his Bella and Bella really does need her legend. I think I have the Jacob problem figured out, so I can finally move forward. It’s only taken me a month to figure it out.

Book Report: Dark Prince by Christine Feehan

Main Characters: Raven and Mikhail
I really liked this story. It has an interesting twist on the whole vampire love story thing. I was really worried that I was going to be getting myself into another Buffy and Angle Romance, and I ended up really liking it. There are many more characters in this story that I liked than just the main hero and heroine. I can’t wait to see more to see if this series is going to be as good as I think it will be. I know this isn’t very long, but as always, I am in the middle of writing something. Taking a break to read kind of sucks down on the time I have to write, so I just have to write faster to keep to my own deadlines and Undying Life is almost done.

Two Novels, One Month

Well, I did it. I wrote two novels in one month. Now I just have to figure out how to edit them both, but I can’t seem to stop myself from coming up with ideas for this series. The next story I am starting (Almost as I write this) is called Undying Life. It’s the story of Devon and of Seth. I am so excited about this, and I can’t wait to see if I can actually write a short story, since, well, you know, I can’t really write one to save my own life. Anyway, I know I am going to be able to do this so I am off to writing land.

Book Report: Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon

Main Characters: Grace and Julian

I have to admit that I almost put the book back on the shelf in the book store simply because of the name of the heroine. The name Grace grates on my nerves and I am not exactly sure why, but it looked interesting enough to at least try the first page before I left the book store. It was enough to make me want to read the whole thing, despite the horrid name of the heroine. (No offence to any Grace out there, it’s just one of those things. There are names I know I love that others would probably look at me with two heads if I ever mentioned in public.) I am very happy that I picked up the book. Grace was a lovable and warm character and I felt she deserved the hero she was going to get at the end of the novel.

I fell in love with Julian almost from the moment he stepped out of the book – literally in the story. He had enough of an edge to him that I didn’t automatically think of him as a pansy hero who shouldn’t been on the shelves with romance heroes.

I loved that Grace and Julian actually talked! They took the time to get to know each other and not just have a big old sex fest and expect me to believe some kind of life-long real love relationship would come from that. Both characters took to heart each other’s fears and desires to make their own decisions. Decisions that weren’t always in their own best interest, but instead in the interest of the person I am supposed to believe they love.

The only place I felt this book fell short was in the use of Julian’s past bad-ass status. I believe the author should have done one of two things. Either made him less of a bad-ass or used it to its fullest during the course of a novel. There was one place where he should have reverted to his ancient times ethics and I wouldn’t have thought less of him, but more as a reader.

All in all, it was a good and satisfying read. I would give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5. Good read and a book I am not sorry I bought.

Halfway

I am about halfway through Undying Wolf. It is turning out much differently than I expected it too, and surprise, surprise, Wolf had done things I didn’t even expect him too. Which is a good thing. I love when I think I know my characters and they turn around and totally turn around and do things I don’t expect them, too. This means he’s not going to be the same in this one as he is in any other novel, which is even better considering he’s one of my archetypes. Anyway, I need to get back to writing because I want to be able to say I write two novels in one mouth. Wish me luck!

Wolf

Well, I started on the novel for my Maverick, and I am kind of stuck on what to do with one of the characters, so, I decided that I am going to put it aside right now and pick up another one. Undying Wolf. I love my Wolf character, and while this is going to sound really bad, and I probably shouldn’t be admitting to this, I kind of have my own archetype characters that I use in my stories. Wolf is one of those characters. The good thing is that he is a flexible enough character that I can change his back story and it changes how he will react to a given situation in a novel. Go ahead, I dare you to figure out where else I’ve used him. I bet you won’t be able to figure it out.

Book Report: Cry Wolf by Patricia Briggs

Main Characters: Anna and Charles

It took me a while to get “into” the book. I wasn’t happy to find out there is a short story which is the beginning of this story that wasn’t included in the novel. Once I got into it, thought, I did find that I enjoyed the characters and the plot line wasn’t too simple for me to get board.

I think I would have enjoyed the book a little more if the author focused more on the romance so I would believe these two characters were falling in love a little more. I’d give it 3 1/2 stars if I had stars to give for it.

My recommendation would be to read it with the knowledge you are going in reading an incomplete story based on werewolves. While it did have it’s enjoyable parts, there were parts that lagged and could have been written better.

Undying Savage Done!

Woo Hoo I finished Undying Savage in like 10 days, and I have to say that I am so freaking excited. I know this one is going to get published, if I can ever get to the point of finishing the editing (and it doesn’t need too much of that.) This is one of those stories that I am damn proud of, even in the rough draft state. Now I just have to tame down excitement and set the novel aside for a while. I love the rush of finishing a novel.

In other news, I have decided that I will start doing book reports on what I am reading. Who knows if it will be interesting or not, but at least it’s something else to post about. My first book report will be on a paranormal fantasy by Patricia Briggs called Cry Wolf. I hopes it’s good.

Undying Series Started

Well, my writing partner, Eden and I have finally come up with the most wonderful idea for our fantasy romance series! I have already started on it, and I must say that I am in love with the characters and the story and the world. There are still some things that I need to figure out about it, and things Eden will need to add to it, but at least we now have a place to start. Maybe I will actually get the Dragon Story I have been so looking forward to reading. Anyway, that’s all I have time for right now. I have chapters to finish!
