Well, I started on the novel for my Maverick, and I am kind of stuck on what to do with one of the characters, so, I decided that I am going to put it aside right now and pick up another one. Undying Wolf. I love my Wolf character, and while this is going to sound really bad, and I probably shouldn’t be admitting to this, I kind of have my own archetype characters that I use in my stories. Wolf is one of those characters. The good thing is that he is a flexible enough character that I can change his back story and it changes how he will react to a given situation in a novel. Go ahead, I dare you to figure out where else I’ve used him. I bet you won’t be able to figure it out.

Main Characters: Anna and Charles
It took me a while to get “into” the book. I wasn’t happy to find out there is a short story which is the beginning of this story that wasn’t included in the novel. Once I got into it, thought, I did find that I enjoyed the characters and the plot line wasn’t too simple for me to get board. I think I would have enjoyed the book a little more if the author focused more on the romance so I would believe these two characters were falling in love a little more. I’d give it 3 1/2 stars if I had stars to give for it. My recommendation would be to read it with the knowledge you are going in reading an incomplete story based on werewolves. While it did have it’s enjoyable parts, there were parts that lagged and could have been written better. |
Woo Hoo I finished Undying Savage in like 10 days, and I have to say that I am so freaking excited. I know this one is going to get published, if I can ever get to the point of finishing the editing (and it doesn’t need too much of that.) This is one of those stories that I am damn proud of, even in the rough draft state. Now I just have to tame down excitement and set the novel aside for a while. I love the rush of finishing a novel.
In other news, I have decided that I will start doing book reports on what I am reading. Who knows if it will be interesting or not, but at least it’s something else to post about. My first book report will be on a paranormal fantasy by Patricia Briggs called Cry Wolf. I hopes it’s good.
