Quiet
Ah, the bliss of a quiet day, with no one hammering on the roof. I wanted to get so much done to day, but what did I get done? Not a damn thing, lol. I sat and I stared at my computer screen all day. I so wanted to get some writing done, but it just wasn’t happening. I hate writer’s block, and my usual way to fix it is to work on another project. So, at like 8PM, I finally decided to work on the two Elburon characters who have been bugging me, and you know what? I did get a chapter done. So I am happy about that. The husband pissed me off, and the kids have been avoiding me so I don’t put them to work cleaning something today. I think we all just needed a day to veg out and do whatever after the long week with the roofers here. So, there reawlly isn’t that much to report on.
The Library
I took my girls to get their own library cards today. They were so excited, lol, and they were so cute. I don’t think they have even been that quiet for that long in my life. First, we had to go sign them up, and we had to wait for our cards, so they went with me to look for “Mommy” books, then we got their cards, and we were off to the children’s section of the library. I told them they could each have too books. It took bugs about 5 seconds to find two, but as always, Pink had to take her time and really find the books she wanted. Then, they have this self check out thing, and the girls thought it was really cool to be able to check out their own books. All in all, it was fun and the girls have found something else they love to do – go to the library.
The Roof
Well, it looks like they will be done in another day or two, the only problem is, we are expecting rain, so that means a day or two can drag out for another week or so. I am going crazy. The kids are cooped up in the house. The dog is getting upset that he can’t follow me outside every time I go to check on the progress and my darling idiot of a husband keeps cutting down tree limbs. I swear he loves that thing more than me right now. I know he’s spending more time with it than he is me. Oh well, that’s the price of owning a home. All the work that goes into it! Maybe something better will happen tomorrow? One can only hope.
