Now That I know How to Train My Dragon…

We took the girls to see the 3D IMAX version of How to Train Your Dragon tonight. It was a wonderfully fun movie for the whole family to see. It was a delightfully cute tale about a boy and his dragon. It had the usual fantasy fare and the plot was mildly predictable, but, I find that acceptable in a child’s film. It had enough deviation that it didn’t get boring and the adult humor was funny, well placed AND mild enough that if a child repeated it in public, it wouldn’t embarrass the parent.

The points I liked best about the movie was A) They let the Vikings be Vikings without taking it away from them at the end. B) The ending was a shock. It was totally unexpected, but totally fit plot line, and, I think it added even more meaning to the movie in the end.

It was fun for the whole family. I know I am sounding like a tag line, but it’s true. The girls were completely enthralled, the husband had a few good chuckles throughout, and of course I adored it. It wasn’t a bad rendition of Eragon. Ahem, sorry to anyone who liked the movie.

Anyway, if you have kids or your just love dragons, this is a must see movie.
